Coroner’s Office reports 3 additional COVID-19 deaths

The Coroner’s Office has reported that there were 3 additional COVID-19 deaths which occurred in the community in the last two weeks.

As a result, the COVID-19 death toll in Barbados is now 471.

96 new COVID-19 cases (44 males and 52 females) were recorded from the 530 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Tuesday, June 14th.

Of the positive cases, 23 people are under the age of 18, and 73 are 18 years and older.

The number of people in isolation facilities was 25, while 1,078 were in home isolation.

The public health laboratory has conducted 695,574 tests since February 2020, and recorded 82,545 COVID-19 cases (37,620 males and 44,925 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 162,533 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of fully vaccinated people is 153,124 (56.5 per cent of the total population or 67 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.
