General Secretary of the Congress of Trade Unions & Staff Associations of Barbados (CTUSAB) Dennis DePeiza believes Christmas time represents an opportunity for the labour movement to celebrate the unification and bonding of workers.
He made the remarks in delivering CTUSAB’s Christmas message, noting that their common objectives can be achieved by working together.
He adds that solidarity will be paramount for the labour movement going forward, especially if they are to engage in acts of togetherness.
He says in acknowledging that Christ came to unite the world, the local movement may also wish to consider that unification ultimately helps the movement to maintain the hard fought freedoms that have been achieved to date.
