Heavy showers and flash flooding in some sections of the island did not stop scores of Democratic Labour Party members from casting their ballot in the Party’s Annual Conference elections on Friday.
Despite a few minor glitches early on, Returning Officer Ricardo Harrison reported a relatively smooth voting process at the George Street headquarters, where almost 150 members cast their ballot before noon.
Mr. Harrison also reported a high level of compliance to COVID-19 protocols during the proceedings.
Voting ceased at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening and recommenced at 9:00 a.m. today.
