MP for St. Thomas, Cynthia Forde believes the Alma Parris School served a purpose and its closure has disadvantaged many young boys.
She has also cautioned society against shutting out boys who are not intellectuals.
Ms. Forde, an educator, says they need the guidance.
Her comments came during the reopening of Celestine’s Restaurant in St. Thomas over the weekend.
