Road Safety Advocate, Junior Jordan is impressing the importance of vehicle maintenance, as investigations continue into two vehicle fires Friday at different locations in St. Michael.
One vehicle caught fire at the junction at Welches Road, Two Mile Hill and Tweedside and the other incident involving a Suzuki Swift took place on Haggatt Hall Main Road.
Owner of the Swift, Philip Seale, says he was on his way from work and was alerted something was amiss when he smelt a strange odour.
There were no injuries arising from the two incidents.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jordan tells CBC News maintenance is key in reducing any chance of fire.
He wants drivers to read their vehicle manuals and not to ignore problems.
Mr. Jordan also wants motorists to invest in a small fire extinguisher for their vehicles.
He is cautioning against resorting to pulling smoking vehicles into gas stations.
