As Barbados faces a significant reduction in rainfall across the island, the head of the Barbados Meteorological Services is warning of the impacts these dry conditions can have.
Director, Sabu Best says current conditions are leading to the drying out of the top soils across the island, with many fields turning brown.
In a statement, he warned residents to expect to see the possibility of more blazes in the coming days as grass and cane fires are sparked off because of the dry conditions.
Mr. Best wants Barbadians to be ready and prepared.
