A few days ago while on the campaign trail, Education Minister Santia Bradshaw announced that schools were slated to resume face to face classes on February 21st.
Speaking to CBC News, Chief Education Officer Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw explained the reasons for the push back from the original date of January 24th.
She says based on discussions with the Ministry of Health and Wellness, it is not advisable for schools to open at this time, given the current COVID-19 spike, particularly in the under 18 age group.
Dr. Archer-Bradshaw says the Ministry is considering all angles with respect to returning to the classrooms.
