The Barbados Agricultural Society is embarking on a number of initiatives to improve pork production in Barbados.
While revealing demand for fresh local pork is still high, Chief Executive Officer James Paul says they have invested in one hundred doses of boar semen from which they will conduct artificial insemination of some sows.
Another area the BAS is looking at is the increase in fertility ratios of the sows.
