The Queen Elizabeth Hospital has been responding to public criticism over long waiting times in the Accident and Emergency Department.
It was raised on Sunday on CBC’s The People’s Business, where one of the main topics addressed related to concerns about patient waiting time in A&E.
Consultant and Head of the AED, Dr. Anne-Marie Cruickshank, responded to a caller who alleged that two patients came to the Department for treatment and were not seen by a doctor after being there for two days.
Dr. Cruickshank categorically says that is not the case, while explaining that the process of treatment can take time.
She says depending on the diagnosis, a decision will be made regarding which specialist needs to see the patient.
