Some primary school students got an opportunity to express their creativity through a poster competition organised by the Barbados Meteorological Services in observance of World Meteorological Day.
A number of them were on hand Saturday for the Met Office’s Open Day during which the winners were announced.
Hayli Cheeseman of Christ Church Girls School emerged as the winner.
Second was Jayda Murrell from the Homeschool Programme and Sianna Maxwell of Holy Innocent’s Primary was third.
Organiser of the poster competition, Tia Browne said the participants, who were between the ages of seven to ten, developed their initiative against the theme ‘On the Frontline of Climate Action’.
The meteorologist said the quality of the work rendered by the students reflected a sense of deep thought and concentration.
She said it was the first such undertaking by Met Services and it would not be the last.
