Fatal shooting in Lears

Police are on the scene in the area of Lears, St. Michael where a young man has lost his life following a shooting.

Police PRO Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss says a report was made to the Operations Control Room via telephone around 6:52 tonight

It was reported that a man had been in a dispute with a number of men and had been shot in the process.

An ambulance visited the scene, which is located along the roadway leading to the business area at Lears. On examination of the body, ambulance personnel found no sign of life.

Investigations are ongoing.
