The finalists of the Ministry of Education’s ‘Pontifications and Poetry 2023’ competition have been announced.
The competition, with the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation as a platinum sponsor, is intended to enhance the public speaking skills of students across primary and secondary schools on the island.
The preliminary judging stage has been completed and Education Officer Gloria Haynes revealed to CBC News the lists of finalists. She began with the 15 primary school poetry competition finalists.
Mrs. Haynes explained the finalists were exposed to a rigorous training session which improved their oratory and presentation skills.
She then revealed the nine finalists for the secondary school pontification competition.
