A fire broke out in the Electrical Room at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital this afternoon.
Fire officials responded and were able to contain the blaze which started just after 2:00.
Hospital officials says as a precaution, a few departments near the back entrance of the QEH were evacuated.
They say electricity across the Hospital’s plant has not been affected, and patient care has not been compromised.
Management is currently continuing its assessment of the damage caused.
There has been no change to visiting hours and the Hospital remains open to care for patients.
