With efforts ongoing to ensure the full free movement of CARICOM nationals by March of next year, Barbados Ambassador to CARICOM David Comissiong, says an inter-governmental task force is not only working to ensure the timeline is met but certain basic guarantees are afforded to all nationals.
The areas include social security, health care and education.
Mr. Comissiong was a guest on the Conversations on CARICOM segment of CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.
Given Barbados’ commitment to tuition-free education at the tertiary level for Barbadian nationals, Ambassador Comissiong doesn’t expect this guarantee will be accorded with the full free movement of CARICOM nationals.
