Grid instability caused by the number of renewable energy systems connected, affected Thursday’s restoration efforts by the Barbados Light and Power Company, after a widespread power outage.
That’s according to Director of Operations Johann Greaves.
Mr Greaves was providing the final update on the outage which the company says was caused by a fault on a transmission line connecting the Spring Garden and St Thomas sub-stations.
He says an investigation into the outage has already commenced.
While apologising for the disruption in service, he sought to explain why it is difficult to give an exact time for full restoration when such outages occur.
