Implementation of Loss and Damage Fund critical

Despite the breakthrough deal on the Loss and Damage Fund at COP28 in Dubai, a Government Minister says the real work begins with its implementation.

Minister of Energy and Business, Senator Lisa Cummins says Barbados was supportive of the move with Prime Minister, Mia Amor Mottley working with other countries to bring them to the table.

She was among the panel for a Ministerial Roundtable at the 14th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.

As Barbados moves ahead with its energy transition, Senator Cummins provided insight into fossil fuel imports by the island over the years.
