Ecstasy and meth are being used by more Barbadians.
That was one of the revelations of the 2021 Barbados Drug Information Network (BARDIN) Report which was released this afternoon.
While cautioning the figures for some of the categories were lower due to the impact of COVID-19, Research and Information Officer with the National Council on Substance Abuse, Laura Lee Foster, pointed out it’s a development they’ll continue to monitor.
Data showed men 40 and under were the main users of substances while alcohol, marijuana and tobacco remained as the drugs of choice.
In reacting to the contents of the report, Acting Attorney General Wilfred Abrahams says the findings allow him and other officials to better tailor a response to substance abuse and crime in the country.
