All of the plantations are ready to go for Monday’s start of the sugar cane harvest.
That’s the word from Chairman of the Barbados Sugar Industry Limited Mark Sealy.
He says the plantations were ready to begin by the original date of February 15, and with more acres being harvested this season he expects an increase in sugar production.
Mr. Sealy also says some of the plantations and farms have come together to enhance the technology and machines which will help make the process a lot easier.
