Employees of the Government Information Service (GIS) as well as communications workers in various Government departments are being given the opportunity to increase their skills, knowledge and confidence in their delivery of strategic communication.
The opportunity comes through the International Communications Skills Course out of the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
British High Commissioner to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Scott Furssedonn-Wood, says the workshops are symbolic of the strong partnership between Barbados and Britain and form part of the UK’s global commitment to free and vibrant media.
He adds that the five-day training course aims to develop the workers professionally.
Meanwhile, Minister of Home Affairs and information Wilfred Abrahams, in endorsing the programme, urges Government’s communications professionals to engage in effective communication.
