An assurance to party and fete organisers that public liability and related insurance cover is still being provided for the various Crop Over events across the island.
President of the General Insurance Association of Barbados Randy Graham made the comments in the aftermath of the recent invasion of the Powda event by a number of mostly young people, who bombarded the event and scaled the fences, in a few cases causing disruption and injury.
He says while the situation has prompted more scrutiny by insurance providers, he says it certainly does not mean an end to the provision of cover.
Mr. Graham says the measures and adjustments being taken now will help dictate the approach taken ahead of any such events in the future.
