The role is not about crime fighting but working with people to implement programmes, which will prevent crime.
This is the response of Corey Lane to the job he takes up tomorrow morning as Minister of State in the Office of the Attorney General with responsibility for Crime Prevention.
Lane says he is heading to his new role with mixed emotions because many are telling him it is too challenging, while he is excited about getting the job done, given his 24 years of experience as a community activist.
Speaking to CBC News on the ground in Combermere Street, Bridgetown, he said various approaches to tackling crime will be considered.
