Most pupils of Lawrence T. Gay Memorial Primary School will start the Hilary Term on Tuesday returning to the three sites that accommodated them last term away from the school premises.

The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training (METVT) made the announcement, saying the arrangement will continue “as it systematically investigates and eliminates the possible sources of the reported offensive odour” at the school plant at Spooners Hill, St. Michael.

This environmental problem at the school that has been ongoing for some time pushed the METVT to again relocate students last term.

They have been designated to sites as follows:

  • All students of classes that were accommodated at the school’s Spooners Hill location during Term 1 will report to that site.
  • All students of Classes 2 and 3 will continue to be accommodated at The Church of Christ the King, Rock Dundo, St. Michael.
  • All Class 4 students will continue to be accommodated at Sharon Moravian Church Hall, St. Thomas.
  • Reception students will continue to be accommodated at Grace Hill Moravian Church, Spooners Hill, St. Michael.

The METVT will continue to provide transportation, as required, to shuttle students to The Church of Christ the King and Sharon Moravian Church Hall, and parents/guardians who need this transportation for their children/wards are advised to have them report to the school’s Spooners Hill location by 7:45 a.m. (PR/SNR)
