Major improvements are in store for the Bridgetown Port as part of a planned multi-million dollar transformation.
Among them is the construction of a new facility that will eliminate the need for Customs and other officials to have to check containers off-site.
That’s according to Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Port Incorporated David Jean-Marie, who says it’s all part of the Port’s master plan for 2020 to 2030, which has an overall estimated cost of one billion dollars.
He made the comment in response to question from Senior Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Dr. William Duguid, during Debate on the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure.
