The Ministry of Health’s Immunisation Unit is warning members of the public that the sale and purchase of the blue vaccination cards, which are issued to people who have been vaccinated, is illegal.
Co-coordinator of the National Vaccination Programme, Major David Clarke, says the Royal Barbados Police Force is aware of the activity where the cards are being sold for as much as $200 a piece.
He points out that this practice is strictly prohibited and anyone caught selling the cards would be prosecuted.
Major Clarke emphasizes that the blue cards are free, and should only be issued by a certified health care professional to individuals who have been vaccinated.
