Amid ongoing debate about mandatory COVID-19 vaccines, The Club Barbados Resort and Spa is the first hotel on island that will require vaccination of both its staff and guests.
The new policy announced Thursday takes effect from September 1st.
The all inclusive hotel located in St. James is part of Elite Island Resorts, which represents nine other hotels across the Caribbean.
General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of Elite Island, Larry Basham, speaking during the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s live ‘The Resilience Series’ said it was about the protection of all parties involved.
He added while not everyone agreed with the decision, they felt it necessary for the industry.
