More digital payment solutions being provided

October 5th, 2022

More digital solutions to otherwise typical cash transactions are being provided for Barbadians.

Island Pay, first launched in the Bahamas a few years ago, is now partnering with players in the local transportation sector to provide cashless solutions for commuters.

The company officially unveiled its services during a launch of its digital wallet and first transaction kiosk, at the Constitution River Bus Terminal in the City.

Among other things, users of the service will be able to send and receive funds, pay bills with SurePay and top up their smartphones, using both a digital wallet and physical kiosks at select locations.

Chief Executive Officer of Island Pay, Richard Douglas gave some further insight into the services offered by the financial technology company.

Meanwhile, Director of the Transport Authority Ruth Holder said the kiosk would provide a value-added service at the River Terminal for the travelling public.
