Barbados has taken a major step to enhance its national multi-hazard early warning system.
Home Affairs Minister, Wilfred Abrahams; the head of the Department of Emergency Management (DEM), Kerry Hinds; and representatives from a cross-section of media houses signed the latest agreement on the matter.
While noting it may appear simple, Minister Abrahams stressed the MOU is very important in keeping the public informed. Director of the DEM, Kerry Hinds, also noted that the move helps to build Barbados’ resilience.
