Minister Indar Weir told the launching ceremony at River Plantation, St. Philip, that Barbados joined the rest of the world with the venture.
He says it’s in harmony with Government’s Sustainable Development policy which seeks, among other things, to ensure Barbados’ ecosystem is protected.
The Minister commended the Pest Control Unit of his Ministry along with the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organisation and called on farmers to play their part in the exercise.
