There’s fresh hope schools can return to normal come mid September with the recent ease in COVID-19 protocols and with vaccines now available for a wider range of students.
The National Council of Parent Teacher Associations (NCPTA) has been reacting to the news regarding the end to social distancing mandates.
General Secretary, Nicole Brathwaite told the Morning Report the association considers the move a step in the right direction.
In relation to vaccines for students under 12 years old, the NCPTA General Secretary expects mixed reaction and some hesitation from parents yet again.
However, she believes it will be welcomed if there’s some guarantee that school will return to full face to face instruction.
Ms. Brathwaite says there’s need for a renewed public awareness push by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the Chief Medical Officer and local paediatricians.
