The process of selecting a new head for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital is underway and the successful candidate will soon be appointed.
Health Minister Senator Dr. the Most Honourable Jerome Walcott provided an update on the progress made on the matter, in the Upper House, as he led of the debate on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Amendment Bill.
He says the new Chief will be a non-national.
The Health Minister also defended the amendment to the act which abolishes the post of Executive Chairman and re-establishes the post of Chief Executive Officer.
