The Emergency Ambulance Service has proposed setting up a new satellite location to better service communities in the south-east of the island.
Consultant Head of the Ambulance Service, Dr. David Byer, says the move would benefit residents in St. Philip and St. John.
Dr. Byer also confirmed that high patient numbers in the Accident and Emergency Department are affecting the ambulance service’s ability to respond to calls in a timely manner.
He says simply buying new medical trolleys will not solve the problem.
