There will be no classes at Springer Memorial School for the rest of the week.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Education says a decision has been taken to grant the teachers and students alike, a period of respite on Thursday, October 19, and Friday, October 20.
This followed a near three-hour meeting at the school today, involving the Chief Education Officer Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw and other Ministry officials, as well as the teachers, Principal and Chairman of the Board.
The Ministry noted that Friday is already scheduled as Teachers’ Professional Day.
Staff and students are due to return to the institution on Monday, October 23, 2023.
After the meeting, Dr. Archer-Bradshaw met with ancillary and administrative staff, in addition to spending time walking around the school grounds, and interacting with the students.
