CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank is assuring local customers its systems have not been compromised.
In a statement on Christmas Eve the bank said its fraud teams have not reported any breaches.
This follows a story in another section of the media, which suggested that several accounts of the bank’s customers had been “drained” of funds.
In a separate matter a number of customers also reported being unable to log into their accounts or see their bank balance through the mobile and online platforms.
While the bank did not address that issue in the statement, CBC News was reliably informed this was due to a system upgrade and customers should once again be able to access their account information.
