The numbers are growing among the vulnerable and homeless.
The disclosure was made by Coordinator of the Fishers of Men Charity Sharon Bellamy-Thompson.
She told CBC News everyday she is seeing new people.
Ms. Bellamy says she is looking for a home for the homeless and praised corporate Barbados and individuals who give assistance.
She added that children are now among those seeking food and shelter.
