The National Union of Public Workers says now is the time to resolve pressing issues affecting the School Meals Department.
Deputy General Secretary Wayne Walrond says additional staff has been provided, but there are still other issues to be addressed.
He made the point after workers at the Harbour Industrial Park branch walked off the job last Friday but returned to work with a promise from authorities to deal swiftly with their grievances.
The Union official admits with the Estimates Debate in progress there will be added pressures on the parties involved, but the School Meals’ assistants want to be reclassified as cooks.
