One man is in custody and another on the run, following a Police car chase in the Ivy, St. Michael.
Acting Police PRO Acting Station Sergeant Michael Blackman says officers were on routine patrol along the ABC Highway in the area of the Norman Niles Roundabout, when they attempted to intercept a car with two male occupants.
The car was signalled to stop but the driver sped off and was pursued.
The car was eventually stopped in the Ivy, and the two males got out. One fired a shot in the direction of the officers.
Police engaged with the culprits, one of whom managed to escape. The other was arrested at the scene.
A gun and ammunition were recovered along with a quantity of vegetable matter, suspected to be cannabis.
No one was reportedly injured, and the car was impounded.
