Over 10,000 revellers are expected to take to the streets of the City in the wee hours of Saturday morning for the Berger Colour Shop & Kooyman Foreday Mornin’ Jam.
The event, hosted by the National Cultural Foundation, is expected to begin at 1:00 a.m. following the conclusion of the Courtesy Garage Pic-O-De-Crop Finals at the National Botanical Gardens.
32 bands, with 10,100 revellers, will hit the road from three starting points and head to the Mighty Grynner Highway on Spring Garden. The starting points are Queen’s Park, the Barbados Tourism Investment Inc. (BTII) and the Barbados Investment & Development Corporation (BIDC) on Harbour Road.
Event producer Kelly-Ann Gaskin says the NCF is happy to see the number of bands has doubled from last year. She says they have worked closely with the Barbados Police Service, the Barbados Defence Force and Disaster Emergency Management (DEM) and other agencies to ensure a safe and secure event.
Ms. Gaskin also invited the public to come out and line the streets.
The NCF will have four trucks on the road supplying music complements the NCF’s Iron Massive, the Steel Band and several DJs.
The National HIV/AIDS Commission will also have its own truck on the road, in addition to the customary Revellers Truck at the rear.
