Planning has started for an international reparations conference in the United Kingdom next year.
The disclosure from General Secretary of the Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration, David Denny, during an Emancipation Day message.
He revealed that on a recent visit to the UK to speak on reparations, he was part of a protest outside the estate of British MP, Richard Drax, demanding reparations and calling on him to turn over his estate in Barbados to the people.
Expressing concern about the proposed increase of the pensionable age Mr. Denny, who is also an Executive Member of the Barbados Industrial and General Workers Union, is asking for further public consultation.
