Earlier today, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, along with other Caribbean leaders met with U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and other officials to discuss and help accelerate the implementation of PACC 2030 – the Partnership to Address the Climate Crisis 2030 that will address energy security and climate crisis in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

The meeting, held at Blair House in Washington D.C., comes after President Joe Biden promised to intensify relations between the United States and the region during the ninth Summit of the Americas.

The leaders were expected to present a finance action plan during the meeting.

This plan has five tiers which include climate finance, development finance for the region, the Inter-American Development Group, the Caribbean Development Bank and correspondent banking which Prime Minister Mottley presented on yesterday.

Under each pillar, the region’s responses will be fully ventilated.
