Barbados suggests the world is at a point where there’s need for a debt write-off for low-income countries.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley says these countries at this point in time need the space to attain the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.
The recommendation was made as the Barbadian Leader took part in a discussion as part of activities for the ongoing United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The topic, Winning Strategies for Financing the SDGs.
Ms. Mottley continues to push for a tripling of multilateral development bank lending.
She says there’s no lack of ideas as countries work to achieving the SDGs.
