Port-related container charges have been reduced by 7.5%.
This change was announced by Barbados Port Inc and was put into effect on February 1.
Chief Executive Officer Mr. David Jean-Marie, says the move is in keeping with efforts by the Government of Barbados to achieve a reduction in the cost of living.
The overall 17.5% reduction coincides with BPI’s takeover of stevedoring operations and the end of related costs.
This follows a 10% reduction in costs announced in April 2023.
Customers are advised to visit the port website to see the full list of revised rates.
