Preparations are in high gear for today’s Courtesy Garage Pic-O-De-Crop Finals.
Teams were busy at Kensington Oval on Thursday assembling the stage and ensuring seating was in place for the event at which 17 calypsonians will try to dethrone reigning monarch Classic.
The finalists include five former junior monarchs: Quon, Raanan, and Doyenne from theC.O Williams House of Soca; and Sammy G and Teri, from the Payce Digital/COB Credit Union All Stars Calypso Tent.
NCF Chief Executive Officer, Carol Roberts-Reifer, has described this development as “an absolute vote of confidence in the Scotiabank Junior Monarch Programme and the NCF’s continued investment in developing young talent”.
This year the 18 finalists are competing for $100,000 in cash or a Nissan LEAF EV car.
