Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has given the assurance Government will assist all people with disabilities.
She was responding to a letter read by the Opposition Leader, as he began his response to the Budget.
The Prime Minister had announced that from October, the categories of people with disabilities that could access Non-Contributory Old Age Pensions would be expanded to include people with cerebral palsy, advanced multiple sclerosis and autism.
Minors with these conditions will also receive a Special Needs Grant.
However, Mr. Thorne told the House of Assembly a concerned mother of a child with Down syndrome had reached out to him.
Prime Minister Mottley sought to immediately address the concern.
