SMS & Combermere lead BSSAC after day 2

Alleyne School’s Rejada Hinds stormed to a new meet record in the Under-13 Girls 100 metre event, on day two of the 2024 Dasani/Powerade BSSAC Championships today at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.

Hinds won her semifinal in 12.68 seconds, erasing 12.70 set by Jaliyah Denny of Christ Church Foundation back in 2014.

Meantime, Harrison College distance runner Zindzele Renwick-Williams captured Gold in the Junior Boys 3000 metre event.

Renwick-Williams clocked 11 minutes 19.61 seconds for victory ahead of St. George Secondary’s Nathan Carew 11 minutes 35.32 and Jaden Springer of the St. Leonard’s Boys in 11 minutes 35.51.

In the points standings, The St. Michael School have now taken the lead among the Girls with early front runners Combermere in second.

The top five in the Girls are The St. Michael School 94.50 points, Combermere 89 points, Alleyne 80, Harrison College 71 and Princess Margaret 34.

The top five in the Boys are Combermere 116 points, Queen’s College 92, Harrison College 87, Foundation 59 and St. Michael 58.
