The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is now a sentinel hospital, and will be assisting the Pan American Health Organisation and the World Health Organisation with data on the COVID-19 virus and strengthening the surveillance of immunisations and vaccination.
Dr. Darlene Omeir Taylor, who is the Advisor on Family and Community Health at PAHO, explained the technical programmes in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic in Barbados.
She was speaking during the hand-over of equipment from PAHO/WHO to the Ministry of Health and Wellness, which will be used to help in the surveillance.
