Inadequate jail times leading some to re-offend

A local criminologist is suggesting that inadequate jail times, compared to those in the 1980s, are leading some ex-inmates to re-offend.

Kim Ramsay points to a shift where people who committed violent crimes are repeatedly finding themselves in trouble with the law.

She weighed in on the matter during the latest Man Talk panel discussion hosted by the Men’s Ministry of the Cave Hill Wesleyan Holiness Church, focusing on jail time.

Young offenders are another worry for the criminologist.
