A high-level conference seeking to find solutions to the region’s crime problems gets underway in Barbados this week.
The Caribbean Court of Justice Academy for Law 7th Biennial Conference will bring together policymakers, judges, law students, attorneys at law and other key stakeholders starting Wednesday.
It’s being held under the theme “Criminal Justice Reform in the Caribbean: Achieving a Modern Criminal Justice System”.
CCJ Judge and Chair of the Academy for Law, the Honourable Mr. Justice Winston Anderson, was a guest on CBC’s Mornin’ Barbados, where he explained the theme was selected as we are living in a pandemic of serious crimes.
Mr. Justice Anderson says the public will also have the opportunity to weigh in during a virtual regional town hall on Wednesday evening.
