Dr. Kenneth Connell was speaking yesterday during a discussion hosted by the Barbados Meteorological Services and the Department of Emergency Management.
He says in times of extreme heat, vector-borne diseases like dengue are more prevalent.
He notes people with non-communicable diseases like high blood pressure and diabetes can also be affected.
