A renewed call by the President of the Barbados Association of Professional Engineers, Lieutenant Colonel Trevor Browne for Barbados to make its Building Code mandatory.
He says given the devastation caused by natural disasters over the last two years both in Barbados and across the Caribbean, now more than ever building with resilience in mind is important.
While Lieutenant Colonel Browne was pleased to see the proclamation of a new Planning and Development Act back in 2021, he says a critical part was left out.
