The Ministry of Transport and Works is advising the public that the link road between Government Hill and Welches Road in St. Michael will be closed to road users on Sunday, April 7, between 5.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m.

This is to facilitate the filming of a public service announcement on behalf of the MTW.

Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) heading into Bridgetown from Government Hill will still have access, however all other motorists will be required to divert.

The MTW says motorists heading into Bridgetown via Government Hill will be diverted through Welches Terrace. Meanwhile, road users approaching Government Hill from Tweedside Road will be diverted left or right at the traffic lights.

Motorists travelling from Welches Road will not be allowed to turn left onto Government Hill, instead they will be directed to continue straight. Those approaching Government Hill from Belmont Road will need to detour onto Pine Hill Road or Pine Road.

Motorists are asked to follow the directions of the signage and the traffic wardens, or use alternate routes if possible.

MTW has apologised for any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for its patience and understanding.
